Scientific Focus Areas
Godfred Darko is an environmental analytical chemist with research interests in sample preparation, bioaccessibility of metals and xenobiotic substances, environmental monitoring, contamination assessment and remediation.
Experience
He has conducted research and served as project scientist for various projects in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania. He has also supervised and provided scientific advice on environmental monitoring and remediation of contaminated sites in Africa including the Safe Water for Food (SaWaFo) and the Sheathe projects in Ghana and Tanzania. Darko is an Editor for Heliyon (Elsevier multidiscipline open access journal), Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (Springer) and Journal of Food Technology and Nutrition Sciences. He serves on the review boards of several international journals. He is an external examiner for the Chemistry Department and the School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences, University of Ghana, Accra, and an external assessor for University of Cape Coast, Ghana
