About Us
Our research interests
SDGs Contribution
The Sheathe Group is an environmental analytical chemistry research group in the Department of Chemistry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana
Our research focuses on studying how contaminants behave in the environment. We use field studies, experiments, and simulations to understand their movement and effects. By identifying processes that amplify contaminant exposure, we aim to better understand their impact on the environment
Our research supports multiple SDGs by studying chemical contaminants in the environment. This helps inform policies, practices, and partnerships for environmental sustainability, human health protection, and responsible consumption
Principal Investigator, Sheathe Group
Prof. Godfred Darko is an environmental analytical chemist with research interests in sample preparation, bioaccessibility of metals and xenobiotic substances, environmental monitoring, contamination assessment and remediation. He has supervised several research on environmental monitoring and remediation of contaminated sites in Africa.
